This week is the fourth week I am in Wuhan. For the past 3 weeks I was quite busy and felt tired all the time because we went out for tour trip all most every weekend, and we still need to do all the presentations and prepare for the tests. Of cause we also use some time for shopping. I have done with all the OIE lessons and one presentation for OIE, but still left one final presentation for OIE. Maybe because of I already learnt it during my secondary school time when I still in China, so I not really think that OIE lessons are very useful for me. However, when I was going out with others and looking at the all the changes, I realize that China is really a big market and China really developing in a very fast rate. Four years ago I leaved China and went to Singapore study and every year I will go back China for one month. Every time I go back to my city I will realize that my city changes a lot. One year really make a big difference. China is a big country, due to its large population China cannot become a developed country, but also because of its large population China is a big market for every country. Therefore, I think even though now China stills a developing country, properly it will become developed country after few more years.
For core modules, we have CAM and TCM, we done with CAM and now we studying TCM. This is the first time I study Chinese Herbs. Even though I am Chinese and my mother is nurse, I not really know Chinese Herbs and TCM. Maybe because my mother studies Western Medicine so I used to think that Western medicine is the most effective way to treat diseases. For TCM I not really know and I also never use it before. I used to think TCM is a very old way to treat diseases and TCM only old people will use it. However, because of CAM and TCM lessons and all the presentations, now I really know what I thought in the past were really wrong. Lessons make me know more about basic principles of TCM and how TCM works in human body, but when we really going out to find TCM in Wuhan and interviewed some of the citizen and Chinese Doctors, I know more about how Chinese treat TCM and how they feel about TCM. From all the research and interview I have done, I realize TCM is dying in China. For younger generation, they not really know about TCM and they not really care about TCM is dying or not. For older generation, most of them believe and trust TCM, and they worry about TCM because of younger generation do not want to learn TCM. As a Chinese, I really feel sad that TCM is dying and even is dying in China. TCM is a very precious present that our ancestors give us, we have a responsibility to pass this precious present to future generation.
